I'm not very familiar with dental filling materials, so when he told me how safe, durable and reliable "silver" fillings were, I trusted him. (FYI- silver fillings are 50% mercury.) He told me he recommended a "silver" filling for my restoration so I said "ok". He drilled straight into the filling with a high speed drill. At the time, I was not aware of this, but this type of unprotected drilling exposes the patient to mercury vapors from the metal filling.

It has now been FOUR MONTHS since originally visiting Dr. Ernst and my tooth still hurts, I have had the crown re-done twice and I am still in pain. I am pretty certain my tooth will need to be extracted. An implant will probably run me 5,000 dollars.

Back to the pain issue- OVER ONE MONTH from the filling, I was STILL in pain. The tooth with the filling was hurting, which was verified by my endodontist, to have a crack from the huge filling. She said that there is no way to tell if the tooth is cracked down to the root yet, but if it is, I will lose the tooth. I AM ONLY IN MY 30'S!!! My grandma was in her 90's when she started losing

He replaced the old filling with an even larger mercury filling. Also, unbeknownst to me, had I chosen a composite white filling, I wouldn't have had 75% of my tooth drilled out. WHO WANTS TO LOSE MORE PERFECTLY GOOD TOOTH THAN THEY HAVE TO??????

Getting ONE TINY cavity filled turned into two cracked teeth, a root canal, two crowns and MERCURY EXPOSURE -AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TEETH, TIME AND MONEY!!! (I've spent FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS trying to fix the damage done to my mouth)

I will regret the day I walked into this office for the rest of my life. I have never had to write a review like this, but my pain and suffering has been so severe that I thought it needed to be said. Best of luck to those of you that continue to go to this "practice". My life has been an expensive nightmare since I came into this office.

I went home, feeling tired but didn't think much of it. When the anesthetic wore off my tooth was in PAIN. This went on for a week. I went back to see if he could "fix" the pain issue. He polished into the filling, to "line up the bite" and I went home, still in pain. This second polishing again exposed me to mercury vapors. (YES IT DOES).

Fast forward to two months after the first visit to Dr. Ernst I have had to have a ROOT CANAL on top of the crown. I am going broke paying for this- so far I have spent FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS because of this awesome "silver" filling he recommended. I hope he enjoyed the five bucks he saved by selling me on his archaic dental filling materials.

I had lab work done, again at another doctors office, and the test came back positive for mercury. I was severely ill from my reaction to his procedures for over two weeks. Yes, I am probably a sensitive or allergic case, but it does and can happen.

To say that I regret the day that I walked into this "practice" would be a grand understatement. I haven't had hardly any problems with my teeth (two small cavities) until I came to Dr. Ernst. I came in with a small cavity on the side of my tooth, which already had a very small "silver" filling.

Love Dr. Ernst Sr. Have been his patient since we came to TX over 40yrs ago.

I went home feeling exhausted, with my neck and shoulders killing me. In the weeks that followed, I endured the most horrible illness I have ever experienced in my life. I went to two different doctors, and the emergency room with no explanation as to why I was having severe low back pain, extreme fatigue to the point that I couldn't walk or get out of bed, crackling aching joints, headache, sore throat, electrical volts coursing up and down my veins, muscle cramps all over my body, and ringing in my ears.
