Does anyone recall that Seinfeld episode where he had placed a reservation for a car, but by the time he got there they did not have his car?

Jerry: I don't understand. Do you have my reservation?

If I could give a negative star I would. I reserved a one way truck rental for Saturday July 1st as we were moving my daughter out of her college apartment in Bryan, Texas back to Dallas, TX. We left Dallas early morning to make sure we could pick up the truck that we reserved, but due to very bad weather our trip took us about an hour longer than usual and we were running behind. I called the store to let them know that we were running about 15 minutes late and if they could please just hold the reservation and keep the store open for 15 minutes and the person on the other line was very rude stating that they closed at noon and making comments like would your bank stay open, etc. Believe me, I understand and have worked in the service industry, but I will tell you that I have stayed open or waited for a customer that had an emergency as it is good customer service and just good business practices. It is clear this person that works here or manages the place is just there to collect her pay check not looking out for the best interest of the company. We didn't ask her to stay open for an hour just 15 minutes as we were just minutes a way. We were not able to move my daughter as there were no trucks available anywhere else as it was a moving weekend and holiday weekend. Steer clear from doing business with this company and they have cheap rates for a reason. I will give my business to Uhaul in the future.

Jerry: I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.

Rental Car Agent: We have your reservation, we just ran out of cars.

I am appalled by the phone call I just received from this Budget Truck Rental location, I made a reservation on December 7 to pick up a truck on Monday, December 14. I just received a phone call on Friday afternoon at 4:25 that the truck would not be available. I asked why not and they said because all their trucks are rented to Fedex. I asked when they received my reservation and they said on December 7. I asked when they knew they didn't have a truck available and they said December 7. I asked why they didn't call me then and their response was "We were hoping a truck might come in." When I asked why they didn't at least have the courtesy to call me and tell me that they didn't think they would have a truck coming in, all she would say was "Would you like the number to customer service?" She would not answer any of my questions. She just kept repeating over and over again "Would you like the number for customer service?" Absolutely will never use again!

Well, I reserved a 16 foot truck days ahead of time only to arrive there and was told they didn't have my truck, but could give me a TWENTY-SIX foot truck. Astounding customer service that they would have imagined that a 26 foot truck could be maneuvered in a typical college student's apt parking lot. Would you not think that by the night before, when they were heading out of the office and knew no more truck deliveries would be occurring that they could have called me to notify me that my truck did not come in so I could have made other arrangements? No one there did. Don't rent from this place.

Like many other people here, Budget confirmed a rental for me, but called me the day before to tell me there were none of those trucks available. I called customer service to speak to someone about finding another truck (the "confirmed" truck was already an hour drive away from where I live). I get a call back eventually from a woman whose exact words were, "Uhhh, we don't have any of those". Yeah, I realize that, that's why I'm trying to find another. She tells me they don't have any of those anywhere in the entire state. What. I began to tell her that I wish I would've listened to the reviews online (even though we were desperate), but I didn't get to finish my sentence because she hung up on me.

Rental Car Agent: I think I know why we have reservations.

I wouldn't try to rent a truck from them again even IF I had to carry everything on my lap in my wheelchair to move!!
