Stay as far from this scam artist as you can. I went in for vertigo.... left with hundreds of dollars in lab work which he led me to think had to do with my vertigo.... no just wants to sell me his supplements and thyroid meds. Now they will not give me my lab work. They want to charge me 25.00

Dr. Shipman is one of the most competent doctors that I have been to see.

I'm super impressed with Dr. Shipman and his team. He has done an excellent job explaining the complications regarding the thyroid and also autoimmune disorders. I have been to several endocrinologists, but Dr. Shipman has presented a unique plan of action with great care. We are getting positive results and I am pleased.

Dr Shipman was good right up to the point till I needed my thyroid prescription refilled. He had me pay for a full blood work up three months ago and asked me to come back in for a follow up. My insurance is very poor, and I don't make a lot of money. I explained to him that I will make a follow up appointment but it would not be right away due to money reasons. He explained this would be fine, and just to come on in when I could make it. When the day came to get my thyroid medication refilled, a medication I need to survive, he denied my request till I get my follow up done. I understand a follow up is needed to keep the medication levels where they need to be, but SOME medication is better than none. In my 20 years of taking thyroid meds, he is the first doctor to deny my refill. His greed outweighs his knowledge and quality of care. If you have great insurance or don't mind paying out your ears nose and throat, he is good, otherwise go see a doctor who at least pretends to care.

My mother has been a long time patient of Dr. Shipman. While he has always been an amazing Dr. for her, we both recently had a very poor experience with one of his receptionists. I hope someone in his office sees this and talks to them about proper phone etiquette. My mother has an accent and has been very sick so her speech may have been unclear. The lady yelled at her that she couldn't understand her. I understand being frustrated, but she could have nicely asked her to call back with a translator. When I called later, I can only assume the same receptionist spoke with me because she was also not very courteous. She immediately told me the office was booked despite the fact I was not asking for an appointment. Behavior like that will drive customers away. I understand having a bad day, but it should never affect the way you speak to customers.
