Stopped in at around 3 in the afternoon one day because I had low tire pressure and didn't think I was going to make it much further. Rang the doorbell and was greeted by an extremely rude firefighter who asked if I knew where a gas station was and if I'd ever used an air hose at one before. Stunned, my pride wouldn't let me tell him that I didn't have $1.50 handy for an air pump at a gas station so I just left and rode the flat home.
He was just hanging out wearing shorts and a t shirt, it's not like there was some emergency I was keeping him from.
I'm sure this action is not indicative of the department as a whole but perception is key. My taxes bought that air pump. Is it too much to ask to just not be rude?
